Batesville is 8-2 against Rushville since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Batesville Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Rushville Lions at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Batesville has seven straight wins, Rushville has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Batesville is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 10, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Madison 60-57. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Cubs are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rushville ended up a good deal behind Greensburg on Thursday and lost 51-36.

Batesville will need to focus on slowing down Adrian Apodaca, one of several Rushville players who made an impact when they last played. He posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of XxZavien Jenkins, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Batesville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Rushville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Batesville beat Rushville 44-36 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Batesville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
