Volleyball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Silver Creek Raptors + Official Tickets

The Horizon Hawks will square off against the Silver Creek Raptors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Horizon's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Silver Creek has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Thursday, Horizon earned a 3-1 win over Centaurus.

Horizon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Horizon can attribute much of their success to Sarah Vaness, who had 11 digs and two aces. What's more, Vaness posted four assists, the most she's had over her last eight matchups.

Vaness wasn't the only good servers: Horizon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 20 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Silver Creek not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Mountain Range as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Silver Creek's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Horizon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Everything went Horizon's way against Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Horizon made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Raptors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
