Softball Recap: Kaneland Takes a Loss

If Kaneland was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Oswego East on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights lost 16-1 to the Sycamore Spartans on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaneland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Coulter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Kaneland's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Sycamore, their record now sits at 21-3-1.

Kaneland and Sycamore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Knights (ranked 89th) will meet Naperville North (ranked 302nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sycamore will challenge Genoa-Kingston at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 361).
