Volleyball Recap: Bakersfield Has No Trouble Against Golden Valley + How To Watch

Bakersfield barely beat Golden Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Drillers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Drillers yet this season.

Bakersfield's got stronger as the match went on, holding Golden Valley to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-13.

Bakersfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carly Arambula out in front who had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Arambula has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Lewis, who had 18 assists and two aces.

Bakersfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They served five more aces than Golden Valley's also-impressive total of ten.

Despite the defeat, Golden Valley had strong showings from Esmeralda Frausto, who had ten digs and three aces, and Sofia Amaya, who had 20 digs.

The victory made it two in a row for Bakersfield and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Golden Valley, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Coming up, Bakersfield will be playing at home against Pioneer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Golden Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Rosamond on the 28th.
