Softball Recap: Georgetown Beats Clermont Northeastern for Their Sixth Straight Win

Georgetown hadn't done well against Clermont Northeastern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The G-Men came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 8-3. The win was familiar territory for the G-Men, who have now won six games in a row.

Brenalyn Hudson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carolyn Edminsten was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Beath, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Georgetown's record now sits at 10-1. As for Clermont Northeastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Georgetown will challenge Peebles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clermont Northeastern will be paying especially close attention to the G-Men's matchup: after the G-Men face off against the Indians, they'll take on Clermont Northeastern again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
