Pace Academy came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Newnan Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pace Academy easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11.

Pace Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Britton McGurn led the charge by getting 16 assists. That's the most assists McGurn has posted over her last five contests.

Pace Academy's win bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Newnan, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-11.

Pace Academy has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against North Forsyth on the 27th. As for Newnan, they will head out on the road to take on Northgate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
