Basketball Recap: Jehovah-Jireh Comes Up Short

Jehovah-Jireh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 63-37 to the Northeast Vikings. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Derrick Cavalier continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northeast, going 10 of 16 en route to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Cavalier is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Braylon Guerin, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points and eight boards.

Jehovah-Jireh's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Northeast, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-12.

Jehovah-Jireh will head out to take on Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jehovah-Jireh is facing Lutheran at the right time seeing as Lutheran is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
