Baseball Recap: Perkins Has No Trouble Against Lorain

Perkins barely beat Lorain the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Titans on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Quentin Binette looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Kash Koch and Dylan Crabtree did most of the damage at the plate: Koch scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Crabtree scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Crabtree is becoming a predictor of Perkins' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Parker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Perkins' victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lorain, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Perkins will welcome Sandusky at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Lorain, they will head out to face off against Keystone at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
