Basketball Recap: Window Rock Takes a Loss

Window Rock played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Page Sand Devils, falling 71-46. The Fighting Scouts have struggled against the Sand Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Page was led to victory by Joseph Benally and Tyree Stingley. Benally went 10 for 19 on his way to 27 points and three steals, while Stingley went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The game was Stingley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Herder, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Page, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Window Rock will challenge Ganado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Window Rock is facing Ganado at the right time seeing as Ganado is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Page, they will square off against Kirtland Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Page is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
