Basketball Game Preview: Carmel Padres vs. Aptos Mariners

The Carmel Padres are taking a road trip to square off against the Aptos Mariners at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Carmel ended up a good deal behind Marina and lost 71-52.

Meanwhile, Aptos unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salinas on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Mariners' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Carmel skirted past Aptos 50-48 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Padres since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
