Softball Game Preview: Justin Garza Guardians vs. Fresno Christian Eagles

The Justin Garza Guardians will challenge the Fresno Christian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Justin Garza is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Justin Garza's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Mendota 10-0. Considering the Guardians have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Uribe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Justin Garza let Aubrey Escobedo and Riley Nason run wild. Escobedo scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3, while Nason scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Escobedo has posted since back in February of 2024. Harmony Cook was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Justin Garza was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Fresno Christian came into Wednesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Fresno by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Justin Garza pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Fresno Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
