Basketball Recap: Life Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Independent last Tuesday, Life Prep came back down to earth. The Life Prep Fire took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weatherford Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Fire can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 38th in Kansas, while the Eagles are ranked first in Oklahoma).

Despite the loss, Life Prep still got an impressive performance from Quinton Rolle Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Rolle Jr's third in a row with at least ten points. Michael Munnings was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists.

Life Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Weatherford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Life Prep and Newcastle will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Weatherford, they and Lawton will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Weatherford has won 12 straight at home dating back to last season, while Lawton won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
