Grayville had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-7 to make it four. They lost 17-2 to the Woodlawn Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Woodlawn, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Woodlawn's side, Rylee Pryor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Pryor has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Woodlawn got a massive performance out of Hanley Lamacchia, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Lamacchia continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zaylee Kirkpatrick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Grayville will welcome Webber at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.25 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Woodlawn, they will challenge Waltonville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
