Basketball Recap: Callie Phillips and Lily Holloman Secure Win for Foundation Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Foundation Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Ducks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Foundation Academy was led to victory by Lily Holloman and Callie Phillips. Holloman dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Phillips went 7 for 15 en route to 15 points and six boards. What's more, Holloman also posted a 86% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Parker, who posted five points along with 13 rebounds and six assists.

Foundation Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter Academy still got an impressive performance from Lalelei Cox, who scored 13 points. Cox continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Janis, who had eight points.

Foundation Academy now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lakeland Christian the next time they take the court. Foundation Academy will head out to face Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Cornerstone Charter Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
