Soccer Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Oak Grove Warriors, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Warriors are ranked 50th).

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Oak Grove, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will challenge Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Grove, they will be playing at home against Northwest Rankin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.
