Softball Recap: Pace Patriots vs. Oakleaf Knights

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pace had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Oakleaf Knights. The Patriots were shut out 5-0 the last time they took on the Knights, so the Patriots were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Hannah DeMarcus, who gave up just three hits and racked up 20 Ks to keep Oakleaf off the board. DeMarcus has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 23 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abby McLean was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ashley Pickard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
