Basketball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Ravenswood Red Devils

The Buffalo Bison will square off against the Ravenswood Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Buffalo's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Ravenswood has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Buffalo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over Lincoln County on Tuesday. With that victory, the Bison brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Buffalo found their leader in freshman Brooke Woods, who dropped a double-double with 37 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Woods has scored at least a third of Buffalo's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Samples, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Buffalo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ravenswood came up short against Ritchie County on Friday and fell 61-49. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Rebels are ranked 35th).

Buffalo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games. Ravenswood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
