League recap: Trinity Christian extends winning streak with victory over Episcopal

3A District 2 recap Nov. 7, 2012

Trinity Christian extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 2 this week by beating Episcopal, 41-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Conquerors.

Trinity Christian took down the Eagles 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Oshay Carter threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 10 yards in the win.

Verlon Dorminey's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jalin Buie chipped in 88 yards. Jeff Holland helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 32 yards.

Isaiah Ford was the best wideout in the league this week as the Conquerors bested Episcopal. Ford racked up five receptions for 101 yards.

Trinity Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 1169 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Ford has 35 catches for 518 yards. Nick Washington leads the league in rushing with 647 yards.

Dave Hess' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,290 from 6,389. The advance stemmed from a 41-0 victory over the Eagles last week.
