Basketball Recap: Owendale-Gagetown Takes a Loss

Owendale-Gagetown suffered their biggest defeat since January 7th on Wednesday. They came up short against the Ashley Bears, falling 49-27. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Ashley to victory were Ellie Drummond and Karissa Brady. Drummond dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Brady went 7-for-13 on her way to 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Drummond has scored at least a third of Ashley's points.

Owendale-Gagetown's loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Ashley, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owendale-Gagetown won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against All Saints Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ashley, they will venture away from home to challenge Sacred Heart Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
