Basketball Recap: Williamson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Williamson hadn't done well against Galeton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Williamson Warriors walked away with a 60-50 win over the Galeton Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Tigers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 54-37 defeat.

Williamson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Nolan out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braxton Watson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 18 points.

Despite the loss, Galeton saw an underclassman step up: freshman TREY SYKORA went 7 for 12 en route to 15 points and eight boards. SYKORA is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Braden WARD was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Williamson moved to 2-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Galeton, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Williamson has already played their next matchup, a 76-38 loss against Wyalusing Valley on the 22nd. As for Galeton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-38 defeat against Austin on the 23rd.
