Baseball Game Preview: Crawford Pirates vs. Bruceville-Eddy Eagles

For the second straight game, Crawford will face off against Bruceville-Eddy. The Pirates will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Crawford took a loss when they played away from home back in March, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Bruceville-Eddy 12-1. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Cade Carroll spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cameron Parsons was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Ryan Yocham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Crawford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bruceville-Eddy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Crawford, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-8.
