Baseball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Gets the Win

Ezekiel Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Southern Christian Patriots by a score of 6-3. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jude Easterling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nemo Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colt Taylor, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ezekiel Academy's record is now 2-11. As for Southern Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ezekiel Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Wiregrass at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southern Christian will challenge rival East Central HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
