Basketball Recap: Amite County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Amite County can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 62-29 to the Pisgah Dragons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Laylah Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double with 26 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 steals for Pisgah. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 26 games she's played. Madysen Washington was another key player, putting up eight points.

Amite County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Pisgah, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 29-1.

As of now, neither Amite County nor Pisgah have any future games scheduled.
