Basketball Recap: Stringer Takes a Loss

If Stringer was riding high fresh off their 76-34 takedown of Lumberton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils were dealt a 67-30 loss at the hands of the Resurrection Catholic Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Eagles are ranked 73rd).

TYRESE RICARDO had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 22 points and 16 boards for Resurrection Catholic. That's the most rebounds RICARDO has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of KEYSHAWN NESBITT, who had seven points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Stringer has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Resurrection Catholic, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Stringer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-50 defeat against Richton on the 13th. As for Resurrection Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-54 win against Taylorsville on the 13th.
