Solanco got themselves on the board against Ephrata on Wednesday, but Ephrata never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Mountaineers with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Golden Mules have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Delaney Gote was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Martin, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Solanco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ephrata only posted an OBP of .118.
The victory made it two in a row for Solanco and bumps their season record up to 18-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Ephrata, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solanco will take on Elizabethtown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ephrata, they will square off against Manheim Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
