Basketball Game Preview: Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades vs. Roberts Rockets

The Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades will square off against the Roberts Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Reed Point/Rapelje has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Roberts will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Saturday, Reed Point/Rapelje lost to Absarokee on the road by a 46-27 margin.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ben Broyles, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landen Bryant, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, Roberts hadn't done well against Plenty Coups recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Roberts' way against Plenty Coups as Roberts made off with a 60-40 win. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Roberts pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.3 points. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Things could have been worse for Reed Point/Rapelje, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-42 loss to Roberts in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Reed Point/Rapelje avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
