Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Great Valley's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Great Valley was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Kennett on Thursday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Blue Demons. Considering the Patriots have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gus Warlick tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Brady Hounsell was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run and six RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Callahan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Great Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennett only posted a batting average of .200.

Great Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Kennett, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Valley will face off against Downingtown East at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennett, they will square off against Avon Grove at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Demons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
