Basketball Game Preview: Northeastern Knights vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish

Northeastern has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Cathedral has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Northeastern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Cathedral likes a good challenge.

Northeastern is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Kokomo: they outscored them in every quarter. Northeastern wrapped up 2024 with a 61-45 win over Kokomo.

Meanwhile, Cathedral was able to grind out a solid victory over Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday, taking the game 56-44.

Cathedral has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.
