Softball Recap: Lowry Comes Up Short

If Lowry was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Elko last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buckaroos fell just short of the McQueen Lancers by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Buckaroos were not able to make up for their loss to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Makinley Hislop put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hislop was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Hislop wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dana Micone, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for McQueen, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lowry will welcome Spring Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McQueen, they will be playing at home against Douglas at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
