Basketball Recap: John Curtis Christian Takes a Loss

John Curtis Christian was the 61-40 winner over Archbishop Hannan when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The John Curtis Christian Patriots were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 60-59 to the Archbishop Hannan Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Hawks are ranked fourth).

John Curtis Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Archbishop Hannan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

John Curtis Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lafayette Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Archbishop Hannan and St. Helena College and Career Academy will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
