Baseball Recap: Iowa Takes a Loss

After flying high against DeQuincy last Saturday, Iowa came back down to earth. The Iowa Yellowjackets fell just short of the Doyle Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Iowa's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Doyle, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12-1.

While Iowa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
