Baseball Recap: Granite Bay Takes a Loss

Granite Bay suffered their closest loss since May 2, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Rocklin Thunder by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Drew Galbaugh was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Jace Bystrowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adejare Williams, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Granite Bay dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Rocklin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

While Granite Bay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
