Basketball Recap: Manley Skates Past Steinmetz College Prep with Ease

On Wednesday, the Manley Wildcats were fully in charge, breezing past the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks 40-3. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Manley found their leader in sophomore Jaklaya Hunter, who went 10 for 18 on her way to 30 points along with six steals and five boards. The contest was Hunter's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja Von Willis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Manley's record now sits at 16-4. As for Steinmetz College Prep, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Manley and Steinmetz College Prep's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Manley will take on Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 28.11 points per game. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Manley: 19.9, Steinmetz College Prep: 19.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Steinmetz College Prep and Austin College and Career Academy (who has only given up 29.9 points per game) will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
