Baseball Recap: Westside Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Westside came out on top against Emerald on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Rams took their matchup against the Vikings 7-3. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Westside let Brody Caudle and Landon Geddings run wild. Caudle went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Geddings went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Geddings a new career-high. Jacob Holmes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Westside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Emerald struck out seven times.

Westside's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Westside beat Emerald by a score of 10-7 on Wednesday.
