Volleyball Recap: Elyria Catholic Find Success

Elyria Catholic won the last time they faced Open Door Christian and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 3-1.

Elyria Catholic walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 21-25, 25-14, 25-16.

Elyria Catholic found their leader in freshman Ava Notarberardino, who had 19 digs and two assists. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Notarberardino.

Despite the loss, Open Door Christian still got an impressive performance from Sammy Comer, who had 13 digs and five assists. Bekah Pachinger also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Elyria Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Open Door Christian, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Elyria Catholic has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on the 25th. As for Open Door Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Cornerstone Christian on the 23rd.
