18 must be Thomaston's lucky number: they beat Gilbert-Northwestern Regional with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Bears beat the Yellowjackets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Thomaston and bumps their season record up to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Gilbert-Northwestern Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Thomaston and Gilbert-Northwestern Regional will both be playing Shepaug Valley the next time they take the field. The Bears will head out to face the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Yellowjackets will host them at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
