Baseball Recap: Buford Drops Season-High Score on Liberty

It's playoff time, and Buford had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Liberty Red Devils get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Buford got a massive performance out of Hunter Mills, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Mills a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Horton, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.

Buford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Buford and bumps their season record up to 17-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Liberty, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14.

As of now, neither Buford nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
