Soccer Game Preview: Deer Valley vs. Liberty

The Deer Valley Wolverines will square off against the Liberty Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deer Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Deer Valley's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Heritage 1-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Fahad Habibi, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Liberty hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They came out on top against Antioch by a score of 2-0. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Panthers are ranked 852nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deer Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 4-0-3.
