Volleyball Recap: St. Patrick Comes Up Short

St. Patrick was the 2-0 winner over Saint Viator when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Shamrocks fell 2-0 to the Lions on Tuesday. The Shamrocks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Patrick was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19.

Despite the loss, St. Patrick saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Groh had eight digs and five assists.

St. Patrick now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Saint Viator, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-21.

Coming up, St. Patrick will face off against Niles Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Viator, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Ridgewood on the 14th.
