Baseball Recap: Connersville Takes a Loss

Connersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to the Greensburg Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 13-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Connersville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Shearer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Connersville's record now sits at 11-14. As for Greensburg, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Coming up, Greensburg will face off against Batesville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Connersville will be paying especially close attention to the Pirates' game: after the Pirates face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Connersville again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
