Football Recap: Runge Skates Past Victoria Cobra Homeschool with Ease

Runge's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra 59-0. Considering the Yellowjackets have won four matchups by more than 49 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Runge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Evan Hernand and Martin Sanders. Runge received some extra help from Jose Mendoza, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Runge's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Runge and Knippa will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. The contest will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, they will welcome Town East Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
