Baseball Recap: Oberlin Takes a Loss

Oberlin lost to Columbia back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Phoenix came up short against the Raiders, falling 13-1.

Chris Hanmer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Oberlin's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Columbia, their record is now 8-5.

Coming up, Oberlin will face off against Firelands at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they will head out to take on Berea-Midpark at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
