Soccer Game Preview: Jacksonville vs. Marshall

The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians will square off against the Marshall Mavericks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Jacksonville didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Pleasant and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Mt. Pleasant. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 697th, while the Tigers are ranked 32nd).

Jacksonville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13-1.

Jacksonville skirted past Marshall 3-2 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Jacksonville repeat their success, or does Marshall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
