Baseball Recap: Sterling Tigers vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars

After flying high against Liberty Common last Thursday, Sterling came back down to earth. The Sterling Tigers fell 10-7 to the Resurrection Christian Cougars on Saturday. Sterling was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Resurrection Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Dayten DiOrio was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Andrew Wright, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

On Resurrection Christian's side, the team relied heavily on Caden Bailey, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden MacAlmon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sterling's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Resurrection Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
