Soccer Game Preview: Normal West vs. East Moline United

The Normal West Wildcats will challenge the East Moline United Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Normal West is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pekin just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Dragons could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, East Moline United waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Maroons a 2-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering East Moline United's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Moline are ranked 239th).

MEAGHAN RASKO was the driving force of East Moline United's attack as she scored both of East Moline United's goals, bringing her season total up to two goals.

Normal West's draw gives them a new season record of 7-3-2. As for East Moline United, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
