Football Game Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals + Official Tickets

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd will venture away from home to face off against the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Elk Grove after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 27-17 to Chico. While the Thundering Herd didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 10-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Laguna Creek didn't have too much trouble with Cosumnes Oaks on Friday as they won 30-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Elk Grove better keep an eye on Levi Ramos. He was instrumental in Laguna Creek's win, rushing for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Laguna Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Laguna Creek, their record now sits at an identical 2-4.

Elk Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Laguna Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 38-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thundering Herd since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
