Softball Recap: Glenvar Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Glenvar dropped their record down to 14-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Floyd County Buffaloes by a score of 5-4. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buffaloes earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

As for Floyd County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Floyd County's part, Emma Biesterveld spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. Biesterveld has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava DeJesus was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.

As of now, neither Glenvar nor Floyd County have any future games scheduled.
