Baseball Recap: Chenango Valley Comes Up Short

Chenango Valley extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-10. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seton Catholic Central Saints. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

Cole Trebilcock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Chenango Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea McKeon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Seton Catholic Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

On Seton Catholic Central's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Liam Kozel gave up only one earned run on three hits.

While Chenango Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
