Baseball Game Preview: East Prairie Eagles vs. Twin Rivers Royals

The East Prairie Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Twin Rivers Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. East Prairie's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Twin Rivers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

East Prairie is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Chaffee just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Red Devils, falling 7-1.

Meanwhile, Twin Rivers was able to grind out a solid win over Doniphan on Thursday, taking the game 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Bo Lilly and Bryce Dollins made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Lilly tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dollins tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lilly went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Dollins went 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Hester, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Galloway, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Twin Rivers' record now sits at 12-6. As for East Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

East Prairie beat Twin Rivers 6-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
