Marmion had lost six straight, but after bumping their record up to 8-15 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the St. Francis Spartans by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Cadets: when they faced off against the Spartans on Monday, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.
As for St. Francis, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Marmion since Tuesday.
For St. Francis' part, they got a good showing from Liam Nugent, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
